I tried a new shaving gel and now my legs are covered in red spots...?

and gross...i guess im allergic to it or it just beat my legs up really bad but in anycase what can i do to make my legs look more normal?I tried a new shaving gel and now my legs are covered in red spots...?
If you have red spots everywhere you applied the shaving cream, it does sound like an allergic reaction. Take Benadryl. Also a topical steroid cream(cortisone). If you don't get some relief, you may have to all the doctor.I tried a new shaving gel and now my legs are covered in red spots...?
It definitely sounds like an allergic reaction. If you have Benedryl handy, you might take a dose of that (read the directions, of course). It will make you sleepy for a while, but might help decrease the redness. You might also consider getting a cortisone cream or lotion from the drugstore to use on the area.

Good luck!

Edit: I have to disagree strongly with the person above who suggested ice. Damaged skin is susceptible skin; ice can cause more problems than it cures.
It's just razor burn. It will go away in about 24 hours.
There is something in the product that you're allergic too, for sure!

Try soaking in an oatmeal bath or using a cortisone cream on the allergy bumps. You can also soothe them w/ Aloe Vera or other soothing gels. (there are some on the market for sunburns that work very well)

Don't shave for a few days and allow your legs time to heal.

Also stay out of the sun for a few days as the UV rays might also aggrevate the bumps. If you could go in the salt water in the ocean, that would help to dry them up.

No worries though. Usually after a good nights sleep, they should look much better tomorrow. (Sleep is a time when our bodies help heal themselves.)

My tried and true statement is:

Depend on products you know and trust and use them often. Try not to be tempted to try other new products until you have talked to other people who have tried them too. Research as many new products as possible before you try them. Don't throw precious money away.

Try some Benadryl or cortisone creme.
Ice will help reduce swelling %26amp; irritation and will also feel really soothing.

Also, it's the safest thing you can put on your skin (as in, safer than any topical cream or gel), considering you're not sure whether it's an allergic reaction or from the razor.

Do 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off, for a couple hours (you don't want to over-do it).
try cooling it down with aloe vera. and dont shave anytime soon.

but aloe vera should cool it down and make the bumps dissapear
just hold off on putting things on your legs. leave them alone. and when u wash them, use a SENSATIVE SKIN soap. i reccommend DOVE.

and cortizone cream, that pink stuff works nicley.
Shave with a new razor, use a shave gel like Aveeno. After shaving apply Jergen's Naturally Smooth hair minimizing lotion (twice a day--once after shower and right before bed).

Also, if you shave in the shower, don't jump in and get right at shaving--give yourself a good soak for about 15 minutes.

Hope this helps. Best of luck to you and your situation.
I'd try some Benadryl cream or cortisone cream. When I came back from India I had little red bumps in patches on my torso and I was really freaked out, but someone told me to try Aveeno cortisone cream and it worked really well. I put it on before bedtime, and the next morning the bumps were smooth and only the redness remained. One more application that morning made the redness gone by the afternoon.
