Can the ink from a tattoo be harmful to your body if you get the tattoo over a spot where you have vitiligo?

I have vitiligo and it was determined at the dermatologist that's what it is. I don't know though if it is autoimmune or what. I have a large spot on my stomach on which I want a tattoo so it can be covered just don't know if it'd be safe to do so.Can the ink from a tattoo be harmful to your body if you get the tattoo over a spot where you have vitiligo?
It is safe to do it, the problem is, it is really difficult to get the color to stay in. I am not sure if it is autoimmune and it kicks out the ink or what the problem is but we really struggle most times to get it to stay.Can the ink from a tattoo be harmful to your body if you get the tattoo over a spot where you have vitiligo?
