How to spot fake Foampostie nike boots?

My husband bought a pair of Nike foamposite boots from someone that he knew. He thinks that they are fake because they are not hard like his foamposite tennis shoes. The boots came in a Nike foamposite boot box and have the correct style number on the box. How can we tell if these are fake?How to spot fake Foampostie nike boots?
i am going 2 c if i can post it, but i love all the series of foamposites but dont have any.lol but i am getting the eggplant foamposites n a couple of days. but anyway, if his boots are bigger and bulkier than the regular foamdome boots then they are fake; or if the front of the boot has stitches on the outside instead of the stitching being inside then they are also fake...like this
